NBH is a Behavioral Health Organization (BHO) contracted with the State
of Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) to
support the provision of medically necessary services for Medicaid
eligible consumers in Cheyenne, Elbert, Kit Carson, Larimer, Lincoln,
Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, Weld and Yuma counties.
NBH as a Limited Liability Company is owned and governed by its
Members, three Colorado non-profit community mental health centers.
The Members, represented by individuals appointed by the Boards of
Directors of the community mental health centers, appoint a Board of
Managers. In turn, the Board of Managers is responsible for oversight
of the day-to-day operations of the company.
The northeastern area of the State of Colorado ranges from the mountains
in Larimer County to the Kansas state line, from the Wyoming border to the
central plains of Lincoln and Cheyenne counties. In this vast area there
are cities with populations over 125,000 and small rural towns with under
2000 residents. Individuals are urban sophisticates and rugged independent
farmers and ranchers.
